Raffaello Burgo was born in 1996 near Paris, he lives and works in Marseille. He obtained his DNSEP (Master degree) at the Beaux-Arts de Marseille in 2022. Born to a mother of Martinican origin and an Italian father, Raffaello is interested in his family history. His introspective reflections lead him to question the theme of métissage from an identity perspective, addressing patterns of rejection and differences and reappropriating life experiences, fragments of memory, symbols, multicultural heritage and and personal archives. Her paintings are constructed from a vision of her childhood from childhood to adulthood, manifesting the paradox of a double culture. He constructs his own iconography, influenced by the imagery Byzantine and Roman mosaics and Haitian naive art.
His work was exhibited at the Friche la Belle de Mai, as part of the Habitacles graduate exhibition in 2022, at the Cabinet D’Ulysse in Marseille as part of a group exhibition entitled Curiosity (2022) and in Arles for a solo exhibition at l’espace Van Gogh in 2023.
