Maya Baratashvili was born in 1984 Tbilisi/Georgia, lives and works in Tbilisi/Georgia.
2001-2007 Studied Fine Arts at Tbilisi State Art Academy
2010-2011 studied Fine Arts at ABK Stuttgart.
The artist works with images captured from everyday life, remaining close to their original form.
A hidden reality gradually reveals itself in the image. A reality that appears from beyond time and space, striving to escape its original form.
The painting develops intuitively, with a dreamlike logic: in a chain of elusive connections, the essence gradually reveals itself. It is simultaneously symbolic, rooted in reality, and transcendental.
Her work explores mythological structures and human psychology through a symbolic visual language.
Maya participated in numerous group exhibition and had a first personal exhibition in 2021 at Baia Gallery Tbilisi.
