Enam Granoth (b. November 17, 2002, Tel Aviv) is a self-taught painter and draftsman currently based between Berlin and Paris, working primarily in oil and acrylic. His practice navigates shifting identities through bold, surreal compositions populated by recurring figures that traverse multiple roles—merging humor, Relationships, and symbolic narrative.
Artist Statement
Enam Granoth is both a painter and a draftsman. In surrealist, expressive landscapes filled with graphic scenes and bold colors, Granoth embarks on a search for meaning. Self-taught and unapologetically autocratic in his approach, he crafts evocative, almost childlike symbols. Recurring central figures suggest an overarching narrative—one character fractured into endless facets and roles. Granoth's art encompasses a wide range of tropes, from warrior and religious figure to servant and drunkard, merging humor with violence to forge an inventive and disquieting world. Through his exploration of symbols, he dissects and destabilizes a collective yearning for the unattainable. In his narrative works, this pursuit often leaves one adrift—drowning in a saturated, chaotic field of fragmented identities and unresolved desires.
Through his work, Granoth focuses on the shifting roles of humans—relationships that often resist, reflect, or distort what he witnesses in his own life.
