Artist Statement

Ekaterine Totladze is a Georgian figurative painter. Her artistic practice explores the inner state of the human being and psychological spaces. In her works, the figure and the environment form a unified psychological landscape, where space does not represent a specific place but transforms into a visual expression of inner experience.

She works in oil painting, where the materiality of the painted surface and the layering process create an intense, emotional atmosphere. The figure is often integrated into the environment in such a way that the boundary between the inner and outer worlds dissolves, generating intimate, transitional, and emotionally charged states.

The series of works selected for TAF explores the inner world of the human being and its relationship with the surrounding environment. The figure and space create a psychological landscape in which real elements express emotional states.

The landscapes presented here do not illustrate a specific geographical location; rather, they speak about the human being and their condition independently of any particular place.

The works depict intimate, transitional moments that visually bring to life the inner experiences of a person.
