Beka Dvali

Biography

Beka Dvali is an architect/painter based in Tbilisi, Georgia. His passion for surrealistic painting has not only fueled his desire to share his art but has also served as a foundation for developing the elegance of his architectural work. He founded an architectural company in 2012, and while growing the business, he has been actively cultivating his skills in art.

Beka’s paintings do not have titles for a reason: the central objective of his work is to give viewers the freedom of interpretation based on their own subjective subconscious. The surrealistic darkness of his work is rooted in deep-set human emotions and is meant to awaken viewers from the draining routine of everyday life, allowing the hidden corners of their inner world to rise to the surface.

Artists Statement

My latest series of works, “Soul,” explores the theme of the soul  ,the processes a person goes through from birth to death and their spiritual condition.

I believe that a person always has the ability to make a choice until the very last moment of life; we are constantly walking on a razor’s edge between evil and good. I believe that the steps we take determine our spiritual state.

The works depict different scenes in which human choice is presented, as well as various states of the soul. With this series, I wanted to show people how difficult a condition a person may fall into if they do not realize that they are spiritual beings embodied in flesh.

I believe that the purpose of creation should be to reveal one reality or another to a person, to create even a small change  to awaken emotions, provoke thought, show a situation from another perspective, and evoke even a negative emotion in that moment.

We live in a time in which external factors deliberately work upon human emotions so that a person becomes emotionless, accustomed to negativity, and as closed off as possible in mind and feeling.

I believe that art is one of the ways that can awaken a person in many different directions. A work of art touches the human heart when the artist is sincere in the creative process.
