TAF and Videonale
ExpoGeorgia, 3rd Hall
118 Tsereteli Avenue
Video is a medium that opens up manifold ways of artistic expression to build narratives through image, sound and text. In complex times as the ones we are living in today it is also a medium which has the capacity to offer multiple and complex perspectives on the world we all share as a global community which becomes more and more fragmented and wounded by conflicts, wars and crisis.
For their first collaboration, TAF and Videonale will bring you a program of seven international artists that opens a framework of thoughts and critical reflection on the reasons and consequences for moments of crisis – on a global but also on an individual level. The program includes works by Viktor Brim, Zanny Begg & Oliver Ressler, Mahdi Fleifel, Stéphanie Lagarde, Chang-Jin Lee, Monira Al Qadiri, Connie Walsh.
Videonale is one of the most important festivals for video and time-based arts in Europe. It was founded in Bonn, Germany, in 1984, and takes place every 2 years. With its ambitious program of exhibition and festival program, Videonale presents artistic positions without limitations of nationality, age and with a wide range of aesthetical approaches to the medium of moving images – ranging from experimental video and documentary formats to performance video, animation, Virtual Reality and video installation.
