On the occasion of TAF 2022, KERA is delighted to present Teodor Rekhviashvili
and Edoardo Dionea Cicconi. Two artists who together, earlier this year showed their
work in a group show during the 59th Venice Biennale.
Edoardo Dionea Cicconi
Dionea is an Italian contemporary artist who lives and works between Milan and
Palermo. After his solo exhibition at Cadogan Contemporary in London, and "150-93"
(Mirror during the day, transparent at night) giant prism sculpture installation in
Favignana island , Sicily earlier this year Dionea has arrived to Tbilisi for his first
residency at KERA to accomplish and produce a brand new series of site specific
works inspired by Georgia.
Tedo Rekhviashvili
Tedo is a local painter. After receiving his higher art education at the prestigious
New York’s Academy of Art he has returned and is currently living and working in
Tbilisi. Tedo's work was exhibited at many art events and he has received multiple
awards for his prints and illustration work. His work was exhibited at Sotheby’s,
Tribeca Ball and Deck the Walls exhibitions by the New York Academy of Art.
Recently, he also worked as the story-board artist for the latest David Lynch’s film.
This dialogue between the Italian and Georgian artists shows the contrast between
different worlds which will be evolved by their surrealistic perception through
common inspirations and visions. This residency project shall be continued and
placed also in Italy in the very near future leading to art and culture exchange
between the two countries.
KERA is a contemporary art gallery founded by Ilana Slutsky and Maria Abramenko
In Tbilisi. The gallery aims to represent emerging and established, local and
international artists. Kera is also running artist residency based on the hills of
Georgian capital offering its representing and guest artists to be involved in local art
science and tradition. This project's main aim is to raise the international art world's
attention towards Georgia and to promote local artists and culture.
On the occasion of TAF, KERA is pleased to invite some of the local artist’s to show
their works in gallery studios as a collateral event to TAF. This exhibition will be
organised and produced by KERA and will also include gallery represented artists'
works.
