My contribution to the 2019 Tbilisi Art Fair is a video installation consisting of 6 short films in which my masks are shown. Each film is dedicated to one period in the latest Georgian history and its impact on my own life and represented by one mask which background I’m explaining while wearing it.
Since 1989/90, the year I got born and the year Georgia got independent again, every day, year, decade changes my life and the fate of my country. Being torn between Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and Russia, the past and future dreams creates a chaotic and schizophrenic atmosphere. In a separate, empty white room, preferably without windows.
Six identical gallery TV-sets upon white square columns setup in a perfect line with a distance of 1,5 to 2,5 meter in between (ideally filling the side of the room facing the door in a symmetrical pattern
