Beka Sakvarelidze – born in 1991, lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts (Painting Department) at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (2010–2016, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees).
Currently, he is a visiting lecturer at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts; Artistic Director of the Dresden international exhibition “Kultur.Synchron”; and a member of the art group “Colorful Cabriolet.” In 2018, 2020, and 2022, he was awarded the Canaletto Prize (Dresden, exhibition “Kultur.Synchron”). In 2017, he became the winner of the “Giraffe” Visual Arts Award.
Artist Statement
The works presented at TAF reflect the condition of humanity in the 21st century. His art vividly captures contemporary life, gathers psychological types, and tells clear, multilayered stories.
