Emmanuel Carrère is a French author, screenwriter, journalist and film director. He is the award-winning and internationally renowned author of The Adversary, Lives Other Than My Own, Class Trip, The Mustache, The Kingdom and many others. His books have been sold in million copies and translated in several languages. He works at the intersection between fiction, biography, autobiography and history. Much of his writing, both fiction and nonfiction, interrogates identity, the fragile frontier between illusion and reality. Several of his books have been made into films, and he directed the film adaptation of his novel La Moustache. He was a member of the International jury at the Cannes Film Festival and Venice Film Festival. Emmanuel is of Georgian descent. He lives in Paris.
